Hi guys my name is Shadley ,I would like to get any information regarding the positioning of your number plate and the legalities around that ,specifically mounting your number plate on the side of the bike like most cruisers do. Proud to be part of this community and happy to make our presence known.

The law basically specifies it must be within a certain limit in terms of size and angle with the ground. It should also have a light illuminating it at night. Off to the side as they do on cruisers should be okay if the above is follow, I reckon.

I got pulled over and the traffic officer basically said it is illegal but did not give me a ticket, he did say he would impound the bike the next time if I didn't fix it though.

    Welcome!

Yeah, size needs to be the SABS approved size.

    Hi and Welcome.

Sorry, I don't know about the license plate, but you've come to the right place methinks.
Ride so you can ride again tomorrow.
