Do I understand correctly then that bike chains do not require lubrication and that we are misled that the chain lube/wax serve to lubricate the chain? If so, then the only purpose of such products are to provide rust protection? Geez, I think I would be better of to simply use gear oil on my chain...

I've been quite happy with the Motul chain paste. A few squirts quickly spread everywhere.

I'm pretty sure the lube still helps if you want any real mileage out of your chain/sprocket, but exactly what you use is less important.

just use the lube/wax of your choice. it always makes for interesting banter around the fire.

Vid ive always used, goes in depth to what works and what doesn't,
Granted i cant talk cause, i clean my chain with paraffin and a rag to wipe off, so it means i get flick off on my bike, but my chain is clean, lubed and im happy, watch the vid, its really cool
