Indicator Flasher Relay

I noticed that my indicators have an intermittent fault in my MV Dragster and after several fault finding sessions at the dealership they have said that it is the flasher relay that is faulty. Any idea where I can buy these relays from in SA? I know that it all depends on the type and configuration of the relay (2,3,4 pin and power rating) but I am not up to paying the exorbitant fees they are charging to bring it in from over seas. It’s a simple electronic component

What does the dealer charge? It may well be better to just bite the bullet and source from them.

I believe this is the part. I googled the part code and found a place in the UK that can source it for approximately R1000 ex shipping. Waiting for a response from them now on whether they have the part in stock or not. Its still steep but including shipping will still be about half the price the dealership is asking. They would also probably charge an hours labor to un-clip the old unit and clip the new one back in!

That's a lot of wires for a flasher relay

I have tried Fire It Up and also expensive Yes agree. I also thought it would look like a normal relay with 2,3 or 4 pins but apparently it’s a bit more complex than that. According to the wiring diagrams and a couple pages on the net, this is indeed the relay (probably with a couple other things inside too?)

I guess I have one of two options:
1) Try source the part from the link above or elsewhere on the web
2) bite the bullet and just order from the dealer

So no luck at the bike hospital. Amazingly though after confronting the dealers about the ridiculous price tag of the part, they have now managed to "source the part from overseas" at 68% less than originally quoted. Looks like they tried to deal me a dirty one. I guess you need to be aware of these tricks they play and not just accept the price they give off the bat

Perhaps they are now also sourcing from the Chines E-Bay instead of their own mother company.

Was going to suggest checking AliExpress, relays are usually relatively cheap parts and outsourced to Indo-Asia anyway.

Update: dealer fitted a new relay for R1200 and indicators are working without any issues again.

Still expensive, but way better than R3.5k.
