Opinion new bike?

Hi Everyone!

I am new here and learning to ride.. I am interested in buying a new motorcycle with which to pass my license and that is a good starter bike, not too expensive and okay for a short rider.(5ft4)
I am only planning on using the bike for about 2 years and will then buy something bigger through the bank. I was looking at the Sym XS200 Blaze. I know it is a Taiwanese brand, but I cannot find any 150cc's and above in the price bracket I need and the bike feels quite okay, for me to handle.

Does anyone have any experience with these bikes?

In general, you will not go wrong with a Sym. Their scooters are reasonably well known as reliable. The only possible issue as far as I am aware is a short service interval and expensive services.

are you aware if the process to import a bike is less than 5k xD or willing to drive over the border to register every year

here in sa for around 25k you could get a ninja 250r at times, you can also get a SUZUKI GIXXER 150 of around 25.

I think though as you say the bikes are more expensive that the sym is probably not a bad way to go if you are planning to trade up in the near future.

Lol, Yeah... Importing and crossing the border is way to much of a hassle. Think the 2 years should be fine... It might even be earlier. Just have to finish paying the car first :P
