When I was in Tiffies in '89 and '90 it was the thing to drink instead of Coke.

And for the younger people, Tiffies was the nickname for the Tegniese Diens Korps/Technical Services Corps based in Voortrekkerhoogte, right on the border of Valhalla. On the corner of Pta Main Road and Paul Kruger Road.

It was. In some of the rural areas of the Eastern Cape, a can of cool drink is still referred to as a Groovy.

Holy moly! That old memory still operates? Yes, indeed there was a cooldrink named groovy. It did get its name from the word groovy used at the time, by the flower power generation to indicate, cool.

Do ye olde memory also remember:

    Hello, lamppost, what'cha knowin'?
I've come to watch your flowers growin'
Ain't'cha got no rhymes for me?
    Doot-in doo-doo, feelin' groovy
Ba da da da da da da, feelin' groovy
    and

Anytime you want to you can turn me onto
Anything you want to, anytime at all
When I kiss your lips, ooh I start to shiver
    Can't control the quivering inside
Wouldn't you agree, baby you and me got a groovy kind of love, oh

Sadly, there is a whole generation who will never know:

    - Kool-Aid
    - Groovy
    - bikes with drum brakes and square tyres and when ABS meant "AMZ's Brake Stomper", i.e. right foot

From a person growing up in an era where cars have names like:

    - Kuga
    - Kwid
    - Qashqai
    - Captur
    - Kajar

    And not forgetting:
    Twizza
    Kangoo
    Big Boy
    Claz
etc etc etc....yep, so much better than Charger, Challenger, Barracuda, Avenger, Skyline, Bel Air...

Every generation prides itself on how advanced, superior and cool it is in every way compared to ones before. Until roughly ten years have gone past and we look back at the pics and say "what the hell was I thinking wearing/saying/doing/using/driving THAT!

Although I will happily concede that certain fashions from the '70s to '80s were pure processed cheddar cheese draped in tasteless Christmas lights.
Try not. Do or do not, there is no try.

Janee! Both Oros and Borstol from when Noah's mom used it to now. The shocking part of technology is you can now buy Oros ready to drink!

Jissie! That Borstol is terrible stuff. The thought of taking a table spoon full is usually enough to cure you of any disease!

You are just in time to have witnessed the first "Austrian goat milk double-half-caf-half-decaf-soy milk cappuccino - extra hot - with a dash of Madagascar cinnamon-and half tablespoon of caramel-latte-frappa-mocha..."

So...you have that....sorry...didnt mean to get that depression flaring again......
