You're allowed to split if you stay in your lane.

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. That seems to have slipped my mind. I can sleep peacefully now again.

I think his lesson is learned...
Quite a few of us also made statements along these lines though: "Yeah! None of us are perfect. We all poop on the law on occasion. When caught, smile and pay the fine, if any."

It would be a pity if he/she ducked.

Agree with comments relating to the tone of this thread but what we need to keep in mind, if we ride were we are not expected, the likely hood of been seen is even less then usual, so increasing our risk of a bad experience.

Why pussyfoot around the matter. We calling a spade a spade, and that is problematic on this forum? Come-on people, we can't be apologetic about breaking the law (even if I'm trying to remove a splinter out of a brother's eye while I have a log in mine)!

The tone shouldn't put anyone off - they will notice that they got off lightly with the coppa who could have slapped them with a fine.

Dunno hey! I think I might prefer paying a fine to getting kakked out by the ooms and tannies on here; safety, it's serious business and they take it seriously.

True. But, it's not so much the fact that the OP broke the law. Like AMZ says, we all do it. And understand that there are consequences. What grated me more is the OP's attitude. When referring to the cop it was with scorn, highlighting the cop's seeming unfairness in going overboard a bit. Whereas his own actions are presented in a much soft light, assuming his action did not harm anyone, carrying on about much more serious crime, etc. People tend to downplay the seriousness of their own transgressions, how often do red light runners state "but it was only just red!", or "it wasn't very red yet", etc. Point is, he broke the law. And I don't believe one should ever compare your transgressions to others in order to try and diminish the seriousness thereof.

And the cop? We don't hear his side, and off course we never will... ergo the way the cop is represented as a power-tripping LEO. I doubt it happened like this, but I was not there so can not really say. But I have a (quite) reliable BS detector...

    Everybody crashes.
Some get back on and ride again.
    Some don't.
    Some can't.

If that's the case, the mods could get their details and send them an email directly to find out what's going on?

He would have received emails of the comments.

I remember when I joined Thinkbike 4 years ago, the biggest gripe I continuously heard was how ppl were "bible bashers", sad to say this thread, 4 years later revives that opinion, we are here to try educate, advise and hopefully save some lives while having fund and taking the mickey out of each other, all this thread managed to achieve was to chase away a new user to the forum, who in my opinion would need a lot of advise as she/he didn't realize their actions were wrong.

I am not saying pussy footing around the issue but scolding a person as if they are a 2 year old does nothing for why we are here, in fact, the total opposite especially as I could only imagine how 2wheels will portray Thinkbike to anyone he may speak too.

    Just my 2c
