    Sure thing, kamza.

Time: Registration, scrutineering etc 7:30 - 8am (I could be wrong, but I always get to trackdays early).

    Was a brilliant day.

Left my place at 6:45am, got to Redstar at 7:20am after a nice slow cruise down the R50 Delmas Road and then a quick hop on the N12.

Was in Class B with some quick chaps and their low flying machines, but I held my own and did some 2'12" laps.

Some pics of me taken by Gerrit Erasmus of Beam Productions:

And me saying thanks to the 'togs for the pics:

And yes, I did get both knees down that day:

And yes, the Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres did an amazing job yet again at a track day:
    Rear:

    Front:

You can see I was not pushing them hard. I was there to have fun and enjoy myself.

They warmed up within one lap of Redstar and their grip is on par with the Rosso Corsa's I had on the bike previously. And tyre life is amazing considering I ride like a hooligan almost permanently and they now have two track days on them as well. Tyres were fitted at 31 288km and the bike now has 35 684km (total of 4 396km) and as can be seen they have PLENTY life left in them. A set of Rosso Corsa's lasted just over 4000km for the rear before it was worn through to the steel cords and 7K km for the front. Tuono's love eating tyres.

Congrats on the knee down! It gets addictive though... lol.
Later on your wise spending brain will take over and you'll be lightly skimming the pucks over the ground to save money... lol.

My last and only time at Redstar I did 3:00 around there. I'd like to go again sometime.

    Thanks Warren!

I have three sets if spare pucks so I am sorted for a while. Hahahahahaha.

Last time I was at Redstar I did a best of 2'22".
Loads of advise from regulars at Redstar, asking instructors questions and observing faster riders, watching plenty Youtube vids on racing there, some suspension tweaks, and learning to ride the bike has dropped 10 seconds off that.

I don't push too hard because I like to ride the bike to a track, go have fun, then ride back home.

Nice! I recently priced sliders... Berik sliders were R899! I nearly fell over when I heard the price.
I did find a couple of racer/instructor guys who have opened their own bike store things and got some for R410.

Ja...I always chew the ears off of the instructors when I go to the track.

Man that is so much fun. Looks like you had perfect weather too.

Good on ya for going there with the right attitude too. You get to push your limits in relative safety, far beyond to what you could on the road so there's no point in trying to break lap records unless you do this sort of thing for a living.

I can only think of one thing that could be more fun: those okes with the wingsuits flying down mountain ranges.

The photograph taken from the right side of the bike is brilliant. Brochure quality.

    Thanks guys

A long time ago at a track day at Kyalami some racer (I forget his name), told me: "If you go to a track day on a bike you rode to the track, make damn sure you can ride it back home. You are not Schwantz or Rainey or Marquez or Rossi so don't try be like them."

I know where my limits are. I cannot ride this bike anywhere near it's limits and I honestly do not plan on doing that either. I know what these bikes are capable of in the right hands and it is actually very scary.

Rooster, yes, some of Gerrit's pics are simply stunning.

But you will... you do this enough, eventually the bike will show you its limits whether you plan to or not. It's just a "dumb" machine, whereas you are a learning machine.
