    Default Tail Tidy Legality ?!?

    Hi guys,

What's the official legality on tail tidys?

By this I mean: Integrated indicators. Full license plate with lighting.

A lot of suppliers provide these however there does not seem to be much official documentation on the topic.

    Kind regards,
    BD

Why do you want to spend all that money?

It's a nice to have but very impractical. Due to the indicators mounted in the tail light, if the sun shines wrong most drivers behind you will not see the indicator flashing while applying brakes. Also with the indicator and brake light so close to each other it's sometimes difficult to see the indicator flashing at the best of time. And it's even worse on poorer quality units.

My 2c is to keep the OEM indicators. They are far more functional and visible which as a biker you want.

There is this incredibly strange phenomenon when you buy a beautiful sportbike, where your friends immediately put pressure on you to butcher the back end of your beauty and mount a crappy, poorly functional and illegal "tail tidy".

    It is beyond my comprehension.

I have a Fireblade SP, the ultimate result of over twenty years of Honda Fireblade excellence. The previous owner had fitted a R&G tail tidy (which at least retains the stock flickers) which I removed and then replaced the oem tail piece.

Now people come up to me and ask when I'm going to fit a "tail tidy". Just why?
    Like never bru.
