    Default Xr125l

Every year I get this urge to get back on a bike and nothing ever comes of it (probably a mix of reasons like having a paid off car, investing my money, only having an A1 I got when I was 17, being too lazy to go through the hassle of getting a learners again..blah blah. I'm epic at excuses).

So, what I want is to commute to work (40km per day), have some fun now and again and really do not care for driving on the N1 at this point and reaching 80 is probably just fine.

Best way to get back into it as far as I can see is to get me an XR125L and start riding it. They go for "cheap" so not a massive hit on the pocket or insurance. And if I do see that riding a bike fits into my lifestyle I can always go and write the learners etc. and get a decent 300/500 ... who knows.

So what I'm actually asking is this: what do you guys think about the bike? Air cooled, carb, 4-stroke = very low maintenance. Is there anything else I should be looking at? The YBR125 is very ugly, Duke125/CBR125 looks prettier but not sure if it is worth the extra $$ (CBR is not my type of bike anyway).

I have had an xr 125 for just under 2 years now. bike ride well at 80km/h and is low maintenance. I'm getting fuel economy of around 35km per liter.

I went to Honda today, didn't have an XR on the floor. Did sit on the new CBR. Very nice but not my type of bike.... and then I saw the Grom. Still trying to get the smile off my face

Those XR's are nice bikes, very good value for money. How much do those Groms go for these days?

Don’t buy a Honda Grom if you’re a shy person

Isn't the grom made for ants?
