Everyone is coming to the Party. It is a good looking bike and i am sure it will do well. The small bike segment has alot of options. Should make it nice and competitive

I think it is great that new manufacturers are climbing into the small bike party with a vengeance. It can only do the market good and it will create "new" bikers for decades to come.

And it also looks like Suzuki will have a proper little sporty 250 in the segment also. Its a good time to start learning to ride

I read that in the article, just saying they look similar.
More importantly I hope the build quality from them is isn't as shoddy as the bajaj made Dukes. I spent a lot of time hunting rattles in my old 390 and silencing them, not to forget the other issues it had....
    Speedo cluster resetting itself
    Fuel gauge errors
    More rattles
    Phantom neutral gears

Most of that was fixed by taking the bike back to the dealer however the gear issue was persistent. That ultimately got me to sell the bike after a few months.

Seen as the top link isnt opening: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-...led/28442.html

    It definately looks good.

I know i read somewhere else (not sure where) but BMW flew in all the equipment for building and did training at TVS. So hopefully it all works out well. I am sure there might be a few initial teething issues but BMW will sort it out quick

That says Q3 2016 in show rooms. Not sure if thats all show rooms. SA site doesnt had an expected date. Did the zabikers one give a date?

Lenny, GM of Bavarian. He mentioned the expected time of arrival. He cannot be sure of the exact date, but reckons and hopes Q2.

BMW did contracts with small bike companies in 5 countries. They are obviously planning a serious attack on the small bike market worldwide. Countries I can remember is China, India, Thailand and Brazil. The 5th slips my mind.

Looks just then same as the KTM 125??? Coincidence? I think not, both made in India, to supposedly HIGH standards! Time will tell!

    But!

I can also make a case that it looks just like its bigger brother, (see below) which is made in Germany. This, can be no coincidence.

I just noticed something... the images for the bikes that are shown are missing the ABS ring :P

You could say the z300, Duke, CB500F, and GS310 all look similar, but you can see the tie its bigger siblings. They look like a bike you want to ride and not a delivery bike, so that a win for all

like all bmw motorcycles, the new g 310 r is fitted with abs as standard.
it combines a powerful brake system with 2-channel abs. At the front wheel, a single-disc brake with radially bolted 4-piston fixed caliper and a brake disc diameter of 300 millimeters ensures powerful and stable deceleration.

I have no idea if they must have the ring. There could be other ways of measuring I suppose.

Having a range of decent bikes in this class is going to make the decision between a new one of these or an older 600cc quite difficult for newcomers

Just heard from a very reliable horse's mouth that the G310R will be here soon and at about R59k. The same horse also mentioned that a G310GS will be here about this same time 2017.
