Maputo to Ponta do Auro

ive checked out where to go, just need a little inside info on road conditions

Have not done the route you're asking about, but know that ponta and surroundings are renowned for deep sand and dunes.

yes, that's exactly why we need to go there.......to ride on the dunes
will organiser some practice sessions on the dumps at Maraisburg before we go.

When and which bike will you be using? Might consider

We did Kosibay to Ponta Malongane, stayed at Malongane with back and forth to Do Oure, and then to the Maputo highway, but this was with a Nissan X-trail. Most of these roads are thick sand with high middelmannetjie, so it will be quite tricky with a two wheel bike. As most of these are tracks more than roads, you will end up with oncoming traffic, making you lose momentum.

None the less, it's probably do-able and was a very nice experience as we went out-of-season and had the place to our selves. I've heard that during holidays it can get quite hectic and with lots of quads and R&R flowing... let's just say it's not my scene...
