Thanks... I have to work out little problems... Each of the recordings have a different audio level and the same with my announcement audio and the virtual audience. Each organ loaded, loads its own characteristics, setting and so on. Each is from a different software developer. For each recording I can balance the synthesizer and organ.

In the final mix I have to sort of create channels. I tried google a audio sound mixer but the freeware is real basic and can't get to it. Video editing software have a few audio channels. I got the old XP box going and the old version of Win Movie Maker, I can create audio channels and it also write audio only. Unlike Win 7 WMM that needs a picture to create the audio channel.

I also abandoned the idea of the orchestra and choir... just now the Linux Sampler hijacked my PNP audio device. I had to uninstall LS and the SO software. It wasn't working anyway. There are plenty free virtual synthesizers that work fine. If I get 3 good usable voices from each, I'll be happy. The strings ensemble sounds awesome.

I finished 10 of the 21 chosen music. I have a few extras on the list incase something doesn't sound right. I think it will be nice and all the ou tannies in town wants my CD. That is typical Afrikaner... niks so lekker soos 'n konsert nie! So, I'll do the CD Afrikaans and English. On there a PDF of building my organ with videos. It should work!

Once this one is done, I'll do another Non Gospel CD. There are nice music for pipe organ but may be challenge to learn! Like, he's a pirate, from Pirates of the Caribbean and so on...

    Hi Johan

    Hier is 'n voorstel:
    2. Record eers 'n "Pilot track" (dis waar jy basies net die melodie opneem op 1 instrument)(MAAK SEKER JY GEBRUIK 'N METRONOOM!!! Oral!!). Sit die metronoom by, en stoor dit op die rekenaar as 'n .wav of .mp3.

My orrel..."oorspronklike keybord" het 'n metronoom ingebou.

Ek is natuurlik net vreeslik verroes...

Awesome! (Terloops ek wil my konsert..

Jy moet vir my probeer uitvind daar tussen jou band pÍlle... Ek soek mahala virtuele dromme ritmes.

Ek maak so. Sal laat weet as ek iets kry.

One LOUD pipe organ in Ladismith. The volume knob on the Pioneer amp is hardly open. Awesome sound from the four speakers! Three in the organ room and one in my bedroom connected to the swells division. Last night I recorded the next song on my playlist... nice and soft... The volume knob... just about closed.

Today... Monday and workshop noise around me... I decided... This is the day! How far up can the volume knob go before distortion on the speakers.

Awesome! Oom Piet our neighbor, fell over the wooden fence to see what he hear! My mom came from the house... The workshop customers gathered around my bike at my doorway... Even Danny from across the road to the other far side of the house came around!

    This organ is LOUD!

    DSC_1483.jpg
Maybe I should be careful loading the sample sets of the following organ... our house being old with plumbing problems...

In the following video a 128 foot pipe. It has a red light flashing... DANGER!!! On a organ the the 16 foot pipe is usually already the lowest sound...

I'm now busy with recording No 17 of the 21. This one I'm bringing in a bit of African flavor with one of the smaller organs and adding to that from the synth a click organ. As a teaser to the song I do a bit from the "click song". It sounds quite awesome!

Hopefully I'll have the concert finished and edited by the weekend.

Another short teaser video. I've sorted out sound levels, I think. There's 4 recordings left and then I can start to edit the concert and recording commentary, stories and little bits to make it interesting.

Finally the keyboard controller I needed... from a rubbish dump... hopefully it still works. Since I started the organ project I was hoping to find one of these. I have to play some part of my organ on a computer keyboard. This morning when I renewed my bike's annual license, behind the building a computer rubbish dump. I scratched around and found two keyboards full of dirt and dust. I was in the rain as well. The one is too badly messed op from water but this one still looks ok. These controllers come from the old keyboards with the grey keys among the cream ones. People just through these things away.

These controllers is very useful to modify for applications where buttons and functions can be connected to a PC keyboard. They are sort after for the Flight sim pilots creating real time virtual cockpits, like I want to do, with musical instruments and even in the auto industry where computers are connected to vehicles.

Have a look at the picture. Think twice before chucking a old computer keyboard away with such a controller. When I started building my organ, a computer shop had such a old keyboard for R500.

Real unexpected... The controller from the worst looking keyboard worked. The better looking one is dead. On switch on all the lights everything fine. Using Word in Office pack... results....

I'll post three pictures... The keyboard and what's next on my organ. On the right side I want to place another octave... also connected to the keyboard... It will be connected to different keyboard points... Should I want to play in synth intro... do that right side... chords like on my previous video left side and organ in the middle... I'm just soo glad the controller works!

If you wonder why I post all these things... I have no-one to share my excitement with! All my family is interested in... is when I will fix all the broken things in and around the house to do whatever crap is asked from tenants occupying a 160 year old house and expect it to be a modern complex!

I took my bike for a spin today... I hit only 110 km/h between the Spar 4 way stop and the U Save stop. I was very generous showing a middle finger to a motorist pulling out of a parking bay. It's life... tough s*** ! I'm not a boer, I don't have a farm.

Johan, your efforts and post are much appreciated here. I will be the first to admit that an awful lot of your technical stuff goes right over my head, but just the fact that you set out to and did build yourself an organ, is truly amazing!
    Keep it up!

Thanks... In a few minutes I'll take the old Ladies to Outdshoorn for a hair-do trip... hehehe While they in the seats for a purm or whatever, I'll try and find scoobie doobie wire. Looking for the Telkom guy's...

The weather is nice today... warm and 20 this morning with a predicted 30. I thinks it's a announcement for more cold coming. I like the warm weather.... Not to hot but this is real nice....

Tonight I'll be sitting with the white board again. The printed circuit is different from the previous controller. So have have to rewire it. Last time I wired all points... but now I know what I need and only wire the ones needed... only 19 pints.

What a awesome day!!!! I went to Outdshoorn. While the oldies in for hair-dues, I went to the Telkom workshop. Kindly explain my need for wire... I got a bit of a speech of Telkom wires... the scrap dealers and the restrictions on even off cuts...

I referred the guy to my organ building on youtube... while waiting at the security booth. About half hour later a friendly guy passed me enough wire to fix my organ... He added... The white flex you used doesn't look good! He obviously watched my video!

On getting home I received another awesome e-mail from a fellow called Jacques. He had given me pointers on improving my presentation of the concert! Awesome!

Mean while I'm sawing and hammering into my organ to add another octave of notes to use with the PC keyboard module I got yesterday from the rubbish dump. See photo's!

After dinner, before continuing modifying my organ... another e-mail.... from Piotr, one of the software developers and creator of sample sets! Just awesome motivation to my project!!!!!

What a day!!!!!! Tonight I'll start wiring the white board.

These ate the notes for the synthesizer I played on the pc keyboard. Don't worry they look "uneven", there are little rubbers missing that I will replace!

Thanks.... I now laugh lekker... me some other stupid things... hehehe

OK... a bit of bashing the keys are pre fitted and the contacts board is in. Now only wiring.

Should you wonder why only 13 key's.... Like in the ad on TV... there are 12 notes in a musical scale. Starting at a C and ending in a higher C. Two C's.... Using just one toggle switch I can change that scale to be lower or higher as I like it.

Modifying the organ took a bit of time tonight so I'll start with the wiring tomorrow evening!
