I can't wait for my next adventure!
Where to go to next is a question. I feel a new route when I read someones write-up with lots of pictures. That is the moment when one lives someone else s trip and imagine it...
The point of decision making prior to planning within a budget is drooling over pictures, not a map! Looking at a map I unintentionally looked at previous trips that was great and one tends to do that again... from a point of being afraid a new destination will disappoint.
Between a bike and a truck, I've seen lots of places. To list them would be ridicules and going the other way round would be more sensible. Places I haven't seen yet that looks attractive by someone else's report.
Drakensberg, Sabie, Graskop, Blyderivier and surrounding areas of JHB and Pretoria... I might be tempted for a North coast to connect the dots...
Yeah man there are lots of good places. Doing a trip though the berg and golden gate would be good
But that would be a long trip :P
Get hold of Linus. Not many roads that he has not been on and he is a tour biker of note.
TyronRoss got me thinking.... I think my mind is set....

I was in Lesotho in 2005. That's about 10 years ago and looking at the 2015 accommodation rates, well worth another visit. A nice 5 to 7 day budget trip. Hmmm.... delicious....

I'm in the thinking phase... Might be after the fruit season... I keep those options open... Usually Feb to April is a nice time of the year... Giving a little time to save up and once going on tour, making it worth while... Weather wise this time till January is too often rain season making a bike tour uncomfortable with afternoon thunder and rain storms... That reduces camping options...

I fixed a home made wide angle lens to my bike camera. Watch the difference! I hanged my screen door and tomorrow will finish it!, painting and fit the lock.

Screen door, not Green Door....
Awesome. Reminds me of this https://360fly.com/ Can't wait to see one when they hit the local market.
This does look easy enough to mount. From the website, the video looks good. When my camera was stolen in Nam, I replaced it with the small Telefunken action cam. It was rubbish and exchanged it for the TVC. The TVC is in its own category also rubbish, but the best of the cheap rubbish available. The sound was terrible. On my first digital camera I fitted a extension mic socket. Did the same with the TVC, making it a bit exceptable. I'm still going to make some plan to improve the border around the lens. At the end I'll have something... home made inspired... that will give a good enough video result... just like the sound... Should you watch the next video, you'll hear the improvements of the mic and the short comings of the "non- wide angle" and and video. This I'll improve with my next mod... hehehe...
Maybe a close by weekend camping and fishing trip :P

"Mud fish"... jig... Catch and through back. We have a nice area and I'll show you around... I suppose it's like someone living in Sabie, don't enjoy his own area as a visitor would. Ladismith has a LOT to offer... I grew up here and was everywhere... That's the nice thing of this area for a visitor... a wide variety of accommodation from camping, budget, chalets, BB, self catering to upmarket.
A lot to see and experience if you like nature... If you don't mind a bit of dirt road, I'll keep you busy for a week! I have to say again, these dirt roads can be negotiated with a regular street bike. Just adapt the riding style a bit and Vaseline on the air cleaner rubbers. Once back in Ladismith a neat little pressure washer and a Tour Biker's valet magic, and your bike looks better than new!
