My son was coming home along Witkoppen. A young car driver changed lanes as he switches on his indicator and although Biker mom's son saw it coming and swung out as far as he could, without leaving the tar, the young driver came right accross into his lane and further and slammed into his side. The bike bounced off the tar into the rough, my son pulled clutch and came to a safe stop. He said there was a lot of rubble, loose rocks and gravel and he was thankfull that none of that got to him.
The young man and another car driver pulled off. My sons right hand indicator had snapped off and his arm was a bit mangled by the car mirror but not brocken. His jacket was undamaged and had definitly helped.
The brand new car had a damaged left hand mirror. The driver was over ruled by the other motorist when he tried to say that bikes are not allowed to filter and that my son is responsible for his costs.
He came around to my house from there to tell me all and to find some contact adhesive. We glued his indicator back and it is still on. His bike is unmarked in every other way.
Two days later, today, he e-mailed me. His arm wasn't mentioned, so can't be too bad.![]()
