Reasons to take gun to work
A few reasons out of many
1: I travel through dangerous area’s with high crime rates where I may be hijacked and need to protect myself
2: I’m have to walk through dangerous area to get to my work so I need to be able to protect myself
3: I work at funny times of the day which increases the risk of getting attacked and may need to protect myself
Now add in that the person may have family members traveling with them and the reason to carry a firearm to protect oneself escalatesa
and there is hundreds of other reasons why someone would take gun to work

and as for the Knife does not go off acidentally
    http://thestir.cafemom.com/food_part...abs_herself_to

personally I have accidentally cut myself quite a few times through my life and have numerous scars from accidental cuts
I have never accidentally shot myself or someone else however

Oh and Mark since you say that you can't see a reason to justify it
that is great and you have every right not to carry a firearm just don't try and force me not to carry one

Well that journalist who made a comment about breaking a biker's neck when he comes past by opening his door has been suspended from his job.

As Much debate/arguing (depends how you see it), its the draw of the luck.

As Mar suggested, if he had to through a paver a the biker, he might have lived.....or would he? If it is your time, it is your time, the way you go does not matter.

For instance, This happened last week and may she rest in peace:

    Tourist dies in freak accident

"A 19-year old Norwegian tourist died on February 9, when a branch broke off a morula tree and fell on the tent she was sleeping in.
Superintendent Chabaesele Kesupetswe confirmed the incident, saying it took place early that day in one of the safari camps at Seronga in Ngamiland District. He said the deceased was among a group of 20 university students from Norway who were on holiday in Botswana"

Huh? Where and when was that said? I've read almost every article about the biker shooting and didn't see that comment...

SO glad he was suspended, should be fired... but then he would probably have an even deeper hatred and initiate vengence towards bikers since that's his pathetic mentality to begin with...

It's been in the news as well (News24). His editor has also commented. He is in deep k@k with his society as well. A lesson he will never forget.

Poor oke learned a hard lesson, especially that bikers do not forgive, even if you apologise profoundly.

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.

Which is justified under law. All I want to see is what story he is going to spin to get off a murder rap.

I read voraciously, and on many of the newspaper forums it is touted as a racist tissue, I do not think if at final analysis anyone will find it had anything to do with race. ThnAir listened to a program on 702 where this topic was discussed and a psychologist on the program stated "a person has no idea of the intense rage a person feels that compels them do something this irrational" and I think the psychologist is right.

Regardlist of if it is about who is right or wrong, or about the right to bear arms or not, this story is tragic for 2 families.

No amount of regret or remorse will change the events of Friday that has changed the paths of many peoples lives.
