I'm pretty excited for this, a 250 parallel twin, also like that they have styled it after the MotoGP bike.

Yeah it looks like it wil be pretty sweet. You know it will be a good quality bike. If it can keep those performance figures and have a good price point close to the CBR i would probably go for the Yamaha.

    Making for interesting times

If I walked into a bike shop and there was a Yammie R25 and a Katoom RC390 standing next to each other, it would be a very very tough choice for me.

If I had enough money, I would buy both. But if it comes down to choosing, it may just drive me insane.

Wonder what the R25 will go for? I'm guessing 45-50g

I guess it depends on what extras it comes with. If it comes with ABS and slipper clutch and is closer in price to the CBR than Ninja it would be epic

Just out of interest LM....why would you want a slipper clutch on a 250 road bike?

If my understanding is correct of a slipper clutch, when i gear down to fast on my bike i can lock my back tyre. Slipper clutch stops the tyre lock in gear downs. Is that incorrect? Maybe its called something else?

    No you are correct.

Just have never needed one on a road bike before. Some of my race bikes didn't have one...... although that did lead to the odd poo moment

I have locked my back tyre during breaking a few times... scared the crap out of me. Would think it would be nice to have although now i do practice bliping on down shifts.

The other bike coming into this segment from Yami that looks epic is the MT 125: http://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/produc...mt/mt-125.aspx

With a possible 250/300cc comming also, so then they will have a naked and fairing 250/300s

What were you breaking when you locked your back tyre?

    or

Were you braking and the bikes rear tyre locked up?

hahaha. Ok to be more specific: braking for a corner and gearing down i have locked my back tyre on my 250, from engine braking a few times. One less thing for a noob to worry about is never a bad thing :P

True story! Anything that makes the bike easier and safer to ride is a good thing.

I wish all bikes came with ABS as standard equipment.
