They'll be 'bundled up' into an animated GIF to make a 'movie' that can scroll on its own.

Click here for an earlier post with the storyboard

    1. How it should be
Rush hour traffic with bikers lane splitting

We need a catchy phrase that will stick with the biker and the motorist - this is the behavior we want to encourage.

Attachment 75416If we all ride the green, we're more likely to be seen.

    2. Lane Change
Car indicates, Biker slows down to let them change lanes
Need a catchy phrase to the biker - that they are responsible for their own action and to be alert.
Let's try avoid telling the motorist to look out for bikes? EVERY other advert does that. Let's make this more a "Think Biker" campaign, than a "Think Bike" campaign...
Attachment 75417Each one, let one, works both ways.

    3. Lane Change completed
Perhaps mention paragraph 309 of the traffic act - saying Lane splitting is legal
Perhaps needs a hand waving in thanks?

What catchy phrase can you come up for this one?
Attachment 75418Thanks for letting him go, now the traffic can flow.

    4. The suicide lane rider gives the driver a fright who in turn knocks the biker lane splitting
    Needs a catchy narrative
    Attachment 75419
Biker please don't pass on the right, you'll give the driver a fright.
Rather stay in the green where we all want/hope to be seen.

    5. Distracted Driver gets a fright and swerves into the Emergency Lane (on right) taking out the biker
The point we need to make, is the Suicide Lane is there for Emergencies only!!!
Attachment 75420That's his emergency maneuver, what's yours?

    6. Same as 1, but with a 'no bikes'.
This slide will be an animated gif on its own, with traffic and bikes moving (I've seen a sample - very lekka)... but will have just one bit of text.

Catchy phrases/ speech bubbles needed for this one...
    Attachment 75421
Please don't swerve out, please don't swerve out...
Thank you for looking out for us
    Annnnnnd - GO!

p.s. please do not share these images yet - we'll publish the complete set once we're ready to launch on 17 April. Then you'll be asked to share far & wide.

Pity I did not get my camera on my helmet before Friday pm. Would have had some excellent footage.

BTW, which is better: Wide Zoom or more focussed? Helmet mounted. I would think wide view better for bke mount

Hi CycleJunkie yes wide view would be better, have added a link for an idea what we want to do with the footage.
if you could do some camera work that would be great!

Just click on the link, the video will show. I just watched it now and I'm not on FB. Good video and the part where the biker in lane, patiently waiting and a car hit him from behind. He nearly fell under the trailer.... 90% voted filtering is safer.

    Hi folks

    Please comment objectively.

We want to publish this tomorrow morning (16th) inviting bike groups and folks to join us on bridges with banners....
Organise rides with lane splitting by example etc.

This will go out on email, facebook, twitter, google ads etc.

Not going to be in PDF format - it's the only one I could get clear enough to publish on the forum for comment... for some reason, each image gets grossly granulated.

    This will be professionally done

Suggestion: Page 3. Change car to vehicle
    as in
One less vehicle in front of you.

    It looks excellent!
I came into this world kicking and screaming
    covered in someone else's blood.
I have no problem going out the same way.

    Another suggestion:

With the transition of slides from 1 to 2, it looks like the car changing lanes has taken out the biker (gone)...
Will move that bike to the top of the page (to show car changing behind him)
    Everybody crashes.
Some get back on and ride again.

Great job! The message is clear, without being preachy. It's short enough to get through in less than a minute. Spelling and grammar are impeccable. Colour me impressed

Riding faster than everyone else only guarantees you'll ride alone.

Maybe highlight the Emergency lane and Suicide lane with yellow and red respectively - same as bike lane in green - to make it very clear which is which?
Especially the Suicide lane, as many may not know what we are referring to.

Text alignment: Center align test between the 2 TB triangles? - some of the pages the text look a bit cramped, particularly the bottom 2 lines of text being very close to left hand Triangle.

Page 5: Why is [distracted] in square brackets?

Add www.thinkbike.co.za - It is too small within the TB triangle for any one to see - maybe big and bold across the whole page under the TB triangles and text? - drive traffic to the website, and maybe grow membership?

Hey Colleen long time no see.....

    Thanx

Ashley - we considered colouring the lanes - but there's too much colour then...
We want to focus on the positive - where we SHOULD ride... and where the motorist SHOULD find us.
The 'no bikes' sign says it all - don't ride here

The [distracted] is in brackets, as it applies to ANY driver who can use that lane as their escape route.
Tackling a lot of questions in the subconscious mind of the reader....

Will look at the font - thanks

Then this one isn't a 'fund raiser' for the campaign - or to generate traffic to the site - it's a general message to bikers and motorists - and to get the social engine running...
We'll be doing more and more of these - with specific messages for raising funds, or attending training events etc.
    Everybody crashes.
Some get back on and ride again.
    Some don't.
    Some can't.
