There is NO debate regarding the use of the SL in my opinion. I can understand the attraction to use the SL, but its certainly not safe riding there. I regularly see stationery vehicles in the SL, especially law enforcement vehicles. Not to mention the fact that one often encounters emergency vehicles (lawfully) using the SL to rush through traffic and those motorists who (unlawfully) using it to jump the queue at a tollgate or otherwise. There are too many hazards to worry about on the SL. My last thought on it, say a rider on the SL needs to get back to in lane in order to make his/her way to an offramp, but traffic conditions don't allow for it? Does the rider slow down or carry on ahead hoping for a gap later or what?

Many conditions dictate my use of a motorway riding my bike. Weather, time of day/night, week/weekend-riding, traffic conditions etc. Apart from that, I generally match the speed of the vehicles when I get onto the motorway and, if confronted by congested slow moving traffic, I make my way to the BL and lane-share past traffic slowly and carefully. This gives me the opportunity I need later to ease back into lanes and timeously prepare for taking my offramp. Merging with traffic flow on a motorway is far more enjoyable to me than to see how fast I can lanesplit. Moderate to light traffic on motorways is far more dangerous in my experience, as the temptation is there to increase riding speed to way beyond the legal limit I only lane-share in heavy traffic, as I see no point in doing so where vehicles travel at fast enough speeds in moderate to light traffic conditions.

As far as I know, they are, but I just checked the ThinkBike website. It seems there is no link to the ThinkBike Shop anymore.

I think that one more Lazarus award from the once great AMZ should qualify you too receive ownership of your bro's lekker Think Bike vest. It seems only right.

Getting the feeling that this forum is a relic of a bygone era. Overtaken perhaps by Facebook or twitter perhaps, dunno.

Unfortunately it is the way the world is going. It is a pity really, since FB, Twitter, etc. while all cool for quick discussions, are pretty useless for sharing info over many years.

Yip but FB doesn't keep the info stored like the forum

Indeed. In my opinion a forum is much better, but unfortunately FB is the way the modern day chatter prefers. They just want to chat. Nothing more. Our own members, even marshals these days rather use FB, or even Whatsapp over the forum. While nice for a chat, absolutely useless for creating and saving a store of information.

A case in point. I saw on FB that we got vests. No news here. No shop. Only FB.
