Default New Ninja 250 coming (2013)

It looks a lot like the 400R I've been hoping for...

    Introducing the all-new 2013 Ninja 250, a full-fairing sports bike with a powerful 249 cm3 Parallel Twin engine.
In addition to more aggressive new Ninja styling, the new Ninja 250 offers more exciting ride performance. The engine features new crankcases, new pistons and an all-new aluminium die-cast cylinder. And complementing its new frame, a wider rear tyre and numerous other chassis improvements significantly improve the bike's overall performance.
Further, reduced vibration and new heat management technology result in ride quality and comfort that exceed the 250-class. Many small components were also redesigned and given better finishing for a higher quality appearance, ensuring new Ninja 250 outshines all other bikes in its class.

Kawasaki definitely employed somebody in their "cosmetic" department that has an eye for beauty.

No, didn't know about that. Which model? 2012? What's wrong with it?

Has a lot more of the 650R (ER6-F) and 400R's looks now, main exception being the exhaust. Definitely liking it though!

I've fired off a mail to the local customercare site for more info.

The only recent things I could see on international sites were about a potential flaw that could cause a passenger footpeg to detach, and another for a faulty down sensor that might cause the engine to cut out under other conditions.

I think the colours are actually quite similar, though you rarely see any that aren't either Green or Black.

Lime Green, Passion Red, Ebony and Pearl Stadust White. Green, Red, Black and White in non-marketing speech.
Then there's the special edition which we're unlikely to see in SA, just like there are SE version of the current model.

I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.

I think this little gem's power and speed will easily be under-estimated.

From the talk on another forum, I'd say similar to the current model.

They can't make it much more without getting too close to the 650R, and other than looks, it's still quite similar to the old machine.
