    What's the smallest capacity bike?

Jhb - Bloem is 400 clicks; in theory, that is 3.5 hours riding. if we depart at 7am we can be in Bloem before the close of brekky at the W.
Why do you need to stop and smoke? Just add some 2T to your tank
Oh, okay, so you want to "fellowship" together on the route.
It's not how fast you can ride --- it's how fast you can STOP!

That Windmill (casino) place further down (about the 4th off-ramp) is nicer thatn the first stop (BJs, I think). Hate the service at that garage. Will get better lunch at the casino than at the garage, plus more parking.

    Just a thought.

N1 Bloem. As you come over the hills into the first off-ramp there is a garage/restaurant complex on the left. Then about 4 off-ramps later is the Windmill casino. Nice restaurant.
With a filling station, etc. Plenty parking; casino security for the bikes, ha!

Ah! Can be considered, noting that the first garage (BJ's) was never under consideration.

Also, my thinking is that if we stop for a sitdown brękkie or brunchie, we do not do a sitdown lunch. Lunch will then just be a garage pie and coke sort of thing and for that a Engen 1-Stop is probably better.

I checked out the distances using Google Maps. The times shown are indicative, based on speed limmits I suppose. So it sounds like quite a relaxed trip. The last leg could be cutting it fine with my small tank. Anyone know where the closest petrol station is at Oviston? Maybe I will need to stop at Springfontein for petrol, specialy if we start twisting the throttle a little. My bike gets thirsty just over 120km/h. I get 240km at a squeeze, 220km when I ride a bit over the 120km/h limmit.

There is an ENgen at the Springfontein turn-off from the N1.

    549m from the N1.

Current route possible fuel stops should satisfy even a Harley.

Your home - Grasmere Engen: About 70km
Grasmere Engen - Kroonvaal Engen: 77km
Kroonvaal Engen - Kroonstad Shell: 83km
Kroonstad Shell - Ventersburg Caltex: 55km
Ventersburg Shell - Aldam Shell: 37km
Aldam Shell - Bloemfontein Engen: 119km
Bloemfontein Engen - Springfontein Engen: 147km
Springfontein Engen - Gariep Dam Shell: 46km
Gariep Dam Shell - Oviston: 47km

You riding the Pegaso? That should do more than 300km on a tank?

Yeh! Thursday 9th is a holiday, wimmins day. Why would we want to leave only on Friday?

Erm ... nobody is only leaving on the Friday.

One group (call them AMZ Group) will leave Thursday and arrive Thursday,

One group (call them Fox Group) will leave Thursday and arrive Friday as they will sleep over in Marquard.

Can we please split the groups in this thread so everyone knows where they can choose. Check out petrol stops, etc.
it's like +-15 days to go! Yip! Yip! Whooo-ooo!

    17 nights.
Ride with me, drink with me, party with me, make memories with me, defend our lifestyle with me but whatever else you do, never **** with me. I just did not want you to mistake my jovial nature as a weakness. I AM WHAT I AM - A BIKER BY CHOICE.
