I'm going to the funeral if any of you wanna join us .

His mom also asked that we bring our helmets and raise them in salute at the end of the service.

    100% Well put Budah
Alas, I did not have the priviledge of meeting him, but saw him on the track several times.
May all who knew him cherish his memory and the times they had together.

    FYI

    hi everybody...
Wim's family has requested that if anybody would like to bring flowers,
to please rather bring with a donation that will go to a charity that they would like to support in Wimpie's name.

they will have a box or something at the chruch for the donations to be put into instead of flowers.

they will also have wimpie's body in a plain pine coffin, because they want people to write messages on his coffin for him.

bikers are all welcome to come on their bikes and at the graveyard, we can all do a proper bikers solute to our fallen buddy and rev our hearts out for him.

thanks to all who have been supportive towards the family and for all the prayers from everyone for Wimpie's soul to rest in peace.

Wim, my friend, unfortunately i cannot be there to bid you farewell in person, but i will be there in spirit.

To all of Wims' family and friends, my condolences go out to you all during this very difficult and emotional time. "They" say time heals all wounds, but some of them just take longer. Take solace in knowing Wim left us doing what he lived for and what he loved and what he did so well with so much passion. Racing was his dream and he is now living the eternal dream in Heaven.

Keep on smiling Wim, the smile that used to lighten up all of your surroundings.

Until we meet again, Rest in peace and be filled with the love of Jesus.

PS, teach those Angels how to ride!!!!!!

    poem that was read

    Poem for Wim

    We take your love,
    Everywhere we go.

    We loved you then,
    We love you still,
We want the world to know.

We didn’t want to part with you,
But we really had no choice.
We did not hear God calling you….
It was you who heard his voice.

Now you have gone ahead of us
    We will have to wait,
Until we hear God calling us,
    We’ll meet at Heaven’s Gate.

I’ll see you again my bud, ….Just not yet!
I am a biker , what is your excuse ???

THANK YOU to all the folks that could make it. And especially to the TB marshalls that had to plan an impromptu escort to the graveyard.
It was really great to see a lot of the 'old school'!
Even after he's gone, Wim is bringing friends together and putting smiles on his friends faces!

Yup, it was good to see some of the old faces again. Unfortunately I had to leave after the service & couldn't make it to the cemetary.

The slide presentation that was screened during the playing of the 3 songs that Wim requested was really awesome, saw some pics there of Wim with DC & also with Bucc as well .
