Default I never thought it would come to this.

    Ok.

After long hard consideration it is time for the Dakar to go.

No - nothing to do with bee stings, but with my family.

I have a wife and a 2 year old daughter to look out for. I think I need to take fewer risks.

I nearly collided with a parked car on a blind corner one afternoon and I got a skrik. Besides as I work from home I ride it perhaps once a month, and my installments are about R1500 a month. So it costs me R1500 every time I get on it.

The Darakrtjie needs some attention - done 37000 kays (still brand new, needs a service, brakes, but other than that is still in great nick.

I don't know what I want for it, but am prepared to let it go if someone is prepared to take over the payments they can have it.

Perhaps when I am older and my daughter becomes old enough to understand why I do what I do - then things may change. But for now - I have to weigh up some risks.

Ok PM me if you're interested. This bike is legendary.

It is with a sore heart I say this:

    Schweet.

    Sorry to see this Richard...

A note: "taking over payments" is no longer legal... your buyer must buy the bike off you, you must settle with the bank and 'walk away'... Your bank statement will show a settlement amount (or phone them)...
Also take a look at Bikefind/ autotrader for comparative pricing...

    Good luck and respect brother

Nope - not that one. This Sydney looked more like a Body-builder than a football player.

    Hey Rich

NOTHING is as important as your family. You're a good man and you won't ever regret your decision, because it was all about those you love and not about you.

Hope you keep in touch with us on Think Bike and maybe one day you will ride again.

    Hey Rich.
Also went through the same thing as you, and although my bike was paid off, I sold it to start new studies. Also only rode it once a month and family (wife and 2 boys under 2 years) takes priority. Maybe one day, but not now. I need to be there for them, I cant take the risk of getting killed in a bike accident.

Respect in your decision, and I know how you feel.
