LoL - I'm on it - Julz is helping out with the helmets for the CTBF that will be painted by the tattoo artists and sold off in an auction to raise funds for our favourite charity - Think Bike

I see a reseller has popped up just up the road from me which made me remember this topic. Any more feedback on this brand, not just the helmets? I would love to support a local brand but have reservations about the unknown quality and longevity.

Any plans to do boots down the line?

I will pop into that shop sometime to take a non-pixelated look, though.

My two cents update: I have been using my Spirit helmet now for three months. As said previously, I use my bike for daily commuting, rain sunshine, wind etc, and it is still awesome. A buddy of mine also purchased one, and he is just as happy with his.

Pyro, heading toward Krugersdorp on Hendrik Potgieter, take a left at Fredenharry (it's the first traffic light after Clearwater/Makro). Keep on Fredenharry and go just past the BP. You will have a little shopping center on the right with a Spar, Pizza/Chicken Perfect etc. Its there, Reseller is BatteriesSA. The Spirit logo is easier to spot than their own.

Not sure if anyone has fitted them and compared to other brands or perhaps owns one.

I had a look at their jackets when I was there. It seems pretty decent. However I'm not sure how it is while riding. But for 1k - I think it is a good buy. I want to get myself one since I'm only using my normal leather jacket which doesn't have padding. I like leather - but damn it's quite expensive.

Anyone who can share how the Spirit Jackets are on the ride would help a lot.

All the adjustments are made via velcro which is nice...

I'd buy one if I needed a new jacket.

Have you taken a look at TracMac? Their jackets are well priced too.

I recently bought their wolf helmet, riding jacket and gloves.I have to be honest and say im really impressed with the quality of the items, the helmet in particular is very comfortable with no wind noise at all.The jacket is comfortable and with its quality gives you plenty of confidence when riding.Although im not the biggest fan of gloves their gloves are also great quality.Their contributing factor for me was their easy to use website, simple to find the products you looking for with the measuring tables to find you your size.Julian responded quickly to my request and within 45 minutes of finding their website order was placed and paid for.

I've recommended their products to my riding buddy and recommend to anyone else looking for gear, you will see what i mean once you get it.Great quality for great price.

Just a quick question. I saw an earlier post mentioned something about this being a local brand (#25). Is the stuff actually made here in SA?

Ive searched their site and can't really seem to find anywhere that mentions their stuff is locally manufactured.

Bought a Spirit helmet, the mouth guard was so flimsy it fell out on the way home. They want to charge R500 shipping for a new mouth guard! They won't even send one in the next shipment. What crap service, will never touch them again!

SO far as i know it's not made in SA, only resold here.

Only SA helmet manufacturer was Lafe, who move to Indonesia i think a few years ago.

I have the spirit jacket and evolution helmet and am very happy. Only issue with jacket was that I reached under the bike and the jacket arm melted on the hot exhaust but I guess any non leather jacket would do that.

Also look at their Bluetooth units. R1300 and works really well.
