Nice example...note the Think Bike sticker - parked across two parkings of which one is a "cripple" parking. Nice example for think bike Mr Reyn.....:roll:
and all this thread is acheiving is makeing some of us realise that , maybe we shouldent have renewed our membership.
You Kno i have a few sticker which i have not put on my bike because they dont fit in and i cant gaurantee that i am gonna live up to the tb image , ( which seems it may not be much of a problem anyway ) thing is when i wanted to put branding on my bike , i wanted it to fit in with the sprayjob and was told its a trademark!! sorri , thats the day i lost interest in the cause and viewed the forum as another Cr___ site to browse.
And each day i see things here which remind me of the 1%er you guys are proving yourselves to be , I guess i will go back to the sites where i can ask a question and get a straight answer even if its getting told to go and $^^4 myself.

Unfortunatly we cant regulate who puts TB stickers on their cars, bikes, trucks, prams etc... and when they do, we cant regulate how they drive or park their said cars, bikes, truck, prams etc...

I have been here long enuff to have met some really nice chaps ,
seen some nice things happen.
And also long enuff to see some atrocious things ignored because it was not in the neighbourhood of jhb or capestad ,
Us okes in durban are not as dof as we seem and for that me friend i will walk away , its me that things like that could be ignored.
People can try and make me out to be a dumbass cause they dont know how to make sure of stocks etc ,
like the biker thread , you have to fit in with the profile of , supposedly beeg bad hairy as33d , except i see that kind everyday they are less of a biker than some scooter jockeys i know.

Enough already you guys!!
This is all just going in circles. A lot of useful stuff has come out of all this the last few days, but also a lot has been repeated over and over and over and... what ever!
So let's pic it up from here and take the good things with us. Don't let a few stubborn replies take away what has been good (and worked) for a long time.
I miss a lot of people who use to have great inputs (I'm sure a lot are reading, but holding back because this is just getting sooo frustrating!!)
This has gone on long enough and I think we have gotten every possible viewpoint there could be. Let's start a new, sensible thread!
It is better to burn out than fade away!!
I shake my head. WTF!
I am proud to be a member of TB. I realised early on that the forum is not Think Bike, the people are. The forum is merely a tool to be used, and sometimes abused. Sometimes things do not happen as I would like. Sometimes people say things I do not like. I do not threaten to leave, I like it here.
The forum is a place for me to learn about things that are happening. I have met many people I consider friends, some I have not even met in person yet. There are some people who post and help me see things from a different perspective. Some people post and make me smile or even laugh. I have joined people in their grief, I have celebrated with people in their good times and achievements.
There are rules which, like it or not, need to be followed. If these rules are transgressed, then it is the responsibility of the mods to step in. To some it may seem that the mods step in too soon, to others that they step in too late. We do not live in a perfect world, the mods cannot please everyone.
As per Abraxes theory that TB is failing...PLEASE!... not from where I sit. TB can do more, much more, but I'm afraid the 20:80 principle is in full affect. 20% of the people doing 80% of the work. In the case of TB I'm sure its even fewer than 20%. Let's get off our Rusty Dusty's and get our hands dirty. Let's stop picking on the percieved faults of others. I think it was DC who stated previously that if we spent as much energy on the campaign as we do fighting and bickering like a bunch of 2 year olds, TB would be a massive success by now. I think anyone who does not support TB due to a comment by DC or others, probably was never going to contribute much anyway.
Thank you to all those, past and present, who have gotten their hands dirty and helped spread the good word! I pledge to try do more for my TB family. To the rest enjoy the forum and ride safe!
Lastly: As I have stated in a previous thread, "I ride; call me what you like....."

Yeah Richard. If you ignore the many people that DID put in the effort, that have now, as per DC's demand (and others) that they leave quietly, have left quietly.
Please explain why so many people who got involved, got their hands dirty, left without any explanation? Oh all is happy, they tell us on their way out.
And also, i'm sick of any criticism of the campaign being argued against. It really is time for a little humility.
I don't entirely agree with Sarge (example) and don't know the guy, but i firstly respect that he said something, it couldn't have been easy. Why is the first reaction to tell him how wrong he is?
And about letters to the committee .... are we a community or a socialist state?
I never ignored you. Please elaborate.
That I cannot explain.
We all could use a little of that from time to time.
In all business NPO or otherwise it has Socialist elements.
Look at your place of work for instance.
I just think that the committee are doing their best and will answer your questions if asked. I cannot speak for them , but they have always been fair with me. Sometimes (and rightfully) putting me in my place. That's who the majority voted for.
That's life.

Thanks Richard, no you haven't
*sigh*
This is an emotional place. Sometimes gets out of hand. But there are real problems and people involved.
Boet - I hear you.
But TB as an org is not here to solve people's problems.
Dude - you can't put 3000 people in one rom and expect everyone to get along. That just doesn't happen...
It would be like 3000 people sitting around the camp fire singing Kumbaya through gritted teeth...
Nothing is more terrible than to see ignorance in action.

Fox: please close your drawer, your unmentionables are showing.
@Abraxes: your passion shown in this thread and others are beyond question, but just know that TB cannot be all things to all people all the time. I am positive that all complaints and criticism are processed behind the scenes, but we may not always like what comes back. I feel the only way to influence change will be from the inside. Put your name forward as a commitee member when next it is called for, and I mean this sincerely without any malice or sarcasm.
