but then you must go and "spoil" you ballot - otherwise you end up supporting the winning party by indirectly reducing the number of "opposing" votes. THAT is how democracy works. by not doing anything you defeat democracy and contribute to a sufficient "majority" so that the constitution can be unilaterally changed by the ruling party should they get 2/3's of the VOTES cast. if there are enough VOTES cast - INCLUDING spoilt ballots then they are less likely to get the 2/3s they want

so if you don't at least do that then you have NO RIGHT to complain about any lack of democracy in our country as you would have DIRECTLY contributed to that situation.

if Maya is fixed i'll come along for the ride, but will also only go vote later as i also found it was more crowded in the morning that later in the day last time round.

Peeps getting back on track here...

I am voting at the Robinhill's Primary school.
Then I plan to do a brekkie somewhere (with a small run)

shhh I have a reporter that would like to chat to bikers on the 22nd at a polling station of our choice... we will be promoting Vote for Road Safety.

So would anyone like to join me at Robin Hills, either to vote or after you or even before you vote for a quick chat and brekkie run?

Thought was to ride out kromdraai way and to say Maggies chicken pie for a yummy pie:

Say we leave RobinHill's primary school station at 10am?

    Who is keen:
    -Ruari

If you choose not to vote, then you legitimately lose the right to complain for the next 5 years, dude.

Saw last night that Wimpy offers a free coffee to everybody that voted, might be an idea to meet at a Wimpy. Or Ruari, how about that Boshoek trip LOL??

Ok, I have decided to vote... for some little party that I had never even heard of, but they seem to be my best vote in terms of what i think of the political landscape.
FYI: A spoilt vote does not count towards % for majority

Ok hate to stir the hornets nest again....
i went and voted for my little party.
The results for our voting station were only published on 7/5/2009.. this confused me at first as results were getting published throughout counting period....
    and then..
I definately voted for only 1 party.
i definately put my ballot in the correct box.
ZERO votes for who i voted for.
5 spoilt votes, i know mine wasnt one.
    so my vote was counted!
    aye caramba.
The suspicion around that the results were published so late, and that my vote just dissapeared... this black mark that refuses to get cleaned off on my thumb was all for nothing
