    Hi Terence

You mentioned new tires in another post. Very fishy with 9000km on a little 250. I bought a 2007 twister with 27000km on the clock and new tires. I will need to replace the rear soon at 52000km.

Sounds fishy to me. I'd walk away.

Yea they replaced tyres and chain and sprocket at 9k, my SR has 45k and the tyres are still good, only replaced chain and sprocket at around 42k.

If anyone has any leads on twister for around 15k or so in the Johannesburg area, please let me know.

I saw 2012 YBR for 17k at Randburg motorcycles but mileage is like 126k unless it was typo and its 12.6k. Going to look at it after work maybe.

There's something I've noticed in the Cbf 250 workshop manual. I understand the bike is sold in Europe as a Cbf 250. On the the Cbx Twister there are some parts and hoses on top of the motor( The cover) which don't appear on the example in the Cbf manual. My mechanical knowledge about bikes is limited.

I was just wondering why the top of the Cbx motor is slightly different to the one in the manual. Does this have something to do with the regulations abroad? Just interested to know the reason why. Apart from the extra bits on the Cbx engine cover, everything else in the workshop manual seems the same as the Cbx.
    Cheers

I will have to use that manual soon for the first time. Will service my CBX the Dec holidays.. Anyways I'm full time commuting now a days. Few weeks back I did my first calculations and my CBX gets 28.9km/l.

Last night just when the bike hit one stripe I filled up. 13.32 litres and on that I got 410.6km.. + I skip traffic... My Figo gets around 11km/l.

I must add I drive slower with the CBX than the car though but I get home faster due to the traffic areas. I do drive constantly at 90kmph on the 80 zone and 100 zone between towns so that obviously help

    Hi Everyone!

Am I too late? Is this thread dead and everyone upgraded to something better? Has everyone moved to another forum or group? I am only up to page 75 now, does the Croda shop still exist?

I found a 2010 Twister with 25k km going for R20K. How does that price sound to you guys? From the photos it looks fine. I have not made contact yet with the seller, so I don't know about service history or if it is registered on the road. What would one need to look out for on a bike of that age and mileage?

Thanks for the thread, hope I am not the only one in the room...

Hi, Twister rider here, have my eye on the new Terenere though. Sounds like a fair price. Check out the tyres, chain, starts first time. Looks for scrapes or scratches on the pipe and signals, maybe dropped, the bikes are solid ,but drops happen. Go check it out and post your observations and pics

Still have my Twister, Croda unfortunately does not exist anymore, but Startline do stock about everything you might need on the bike

I still have my Twister for commuting, sometimes close to 200 km a day!

Nice to have a bigger bike for weekend rides, sometimes with my wife.

Nice! Thanks for the input everyone. I hope to have a bike and learners soon. Will use it to commute backroads. 25km/40min each way.
I will contact the owner and have a look at that bike!

and 25K Km is nothing for a Twister, as long as its been serviced regularly. Try do some Research on what to look out for when viewing a bike.

I bought a 2012 twister 6 months ago, with 2500km on. its a honest bike, feels solid and fun to ride. I finally understand why it gets so much praise. As long as the bike you looking at was well looked after it will keep a smile on your face.

I hope this is the right place to ask.

Im looking for advice on selling my twister as a spares bike. Unfortunately I bought a bit of a lemon from Gumtree and the Engine is now basically kaput. Im looking for any sort of guidance on what I should be asking for when selling it.

The bike is a 2009 Twister with some normal wear from age but assume the engine is not salvageable.

I understand that I am not going to get much (life lessons learned) but have no idea what to even start asking? 7k? 5k? 2k?

Im not looking for much, just dont want to rip myself off more than needed.

    Thanks
