What speed are you going to be "cut" in half like that, secondly, Y so little blood?

I came across this site ,it is very graphic and gruesome, these pictures show that we have to be so careful and sharp on the road , you can not be negligent.

this was me 3 and a half years ago. It was in Allansnek Roodepoort and the weeks I spend in ICU, the photo was taken 9 days after the accident I spend months in hospital and numerous operations. The accident happened at about 60 km/h. It only cost R16 000 to repair my R1 including a new frame and only using genuine parts

Here are some of the last accident 29 Sept 2007. The bike a BMW R1200R was a total write-off. I was ATTGAT but my jacket pulled up while sliding along. I don't have photos of the accident itself. I broke both wrists, left hand, amputated left index finger, broke left femur in 4 places and have broken it twice since again, broke my toes on my left foot. Again off work for a month, in total now 5 months and have had 9 operations again

Accident 2 years ago. Doing less than 40Km\h.

For 18 months I had to walk with either crutches or a cane. The cost of the 7 operations, hospital, etc was around R1.2 mil.

Damage to my leg. The first 2 pictures was taken after the third operation. It was the first time they opened the wound to see if the skin grafts was growing.

The last 2 pictures was after the 6th operation. First the patch where they removed the skin to replace the previous graft. The last photo is the new skin that replaced the old graft.

The final operation was to do a full knee replacement.

    Hey D

You're an accident waiting to happen.... I couldn't belive it when we wanted to visit you at your new job just to find out you were in hospital AGAIN!!! Worse than me... I fall off often, but have been fortunate not to end up in hospital (touch wood!!!).

I have also noticed that there are far fewer serious accidents involving 'adventure'/ dual purpose bikes. It tell me a bit about the mentality of superbike riders (no offence), speed is dangerous in the wrong places, and make no mistake, I have gone over 200km's (not on my bike though), but there's a time and place for speed, and in and around town traffic is the wrong place! Not only are those riders putting themselves at risk, but all the other road users as well.

I have watched the guys on a Sunday, racing to Harties and back, annoying me like hell when they pass so close to me that I can smell their breath, making my bike shake at the speeds they race past me at.

And often I shake my head because a lot of them are inexperienced, once a month Sunday riders, many can't even turn their bikes or adequately do any slow manouvres. It's easy to go fast, but they really should learn the basics of bike conrol...!!!!

I commute on my bike a lot, I even go shopping, I do long holiday trips, and when the road is suitable I will take it to the limit, but experience and paying attention definitely is a big plus... and not having too much alcohol! Cars will always get in the way, so ride as if they will, and expect an obstacle around every corner.

Please people take care out there so that we won't have to look at more of these pics and attend more funerals.

    Default Accident

A friends (ruff001) buddy (derick) was involved in an accident on thursday.
Car skipped a red robot. He pulled away (it was green for him) and the car hit him.

He was VERY lucky to only have ended up with a sore shoulder and a couple of little scratches!

Warren - this is the kind of material we need for the TITTS programme... please will you ask your friend for written permission for us to use these two photos and his story in the programme ?

Do you think he'll be up to talking about his ordeal to a school hall with 1000 screaming kids ?

What's his explanation for no ATGATT ? "Just going down the road to get some milk?"
Does he have any other photos of injuries and the healing process ?
    Everybody crashes.
Some get back on and ride again.
    Some don't.
    Some can't.

www.Roadcover.co.za - one of our sponsors, and "cover" is included in your annual membership fee and covers any claim with the RAF.

Could you elaborate a bit if I didn't answer your question ?
