depends, my leathers have perforations, works well for me, just remember I am a fat bastid and have a great deal of surface area from which to sweat from

Now theres a good idea, the Wicker shirt. Will give it a try. My biggest concern is not going down in corners but rather been hit by one of those ugly four wheel monster while negotiating traffic. I have a Yoshi 4 in 1 and that tend to get more attention than the horrible hooter but never the less, i think leathers it shall remain and sweaty shall be the game but at least alive will be my aim.

Stranger it seems that you and I have a similar weight issue...

Just out of interest I have found that riders who come down at the track and who were wearing short sleeves and shorts under the leathers tend to get friction burns from the leathers rubbing against the bare skin. A long sleeve wicking shirt and long wicking pants tend to stop the rash.

A rounded shape has less surface area per unit of volume ;)

The one thing that put me off about proper wicking shirts I've seen - they tend to be expensive.
Also - my main sweats are on my commute. Wearing another shirt is a bit against my daily drive.

So I'd be swapping a textile and shirt for a leather jacket and a shirt with another wicker shirt?

That is assuming the wicker shirt is not suitable for work wear...

For a commute where speeds are kept down, I have nothing against mesh. My Alpinestars T-GP-R flows crazy air and has the necessary armour and 600dd cordura in the impact areas.

I just got myself the Alpinestars TZ1 Reload. Its a fully perforated 1.1cm thick leather jacket. Probably the most perforations I have seen on a jacket. Using it tomorrow but then again, it isn't that hot yet. From the reviews I have read it does get warm when sitting still but once moving it flows lots of air.

There is no need to sweat in my opinion. Lots of options out there. The full leather jacket is being put away until autumn.

Found my first one last night... Was terrible. I didn't want to finish the kebab, and I don't think I will EVER visit that restaurant again.
Ride so you can ride again tomorrow.
