Welcome.
Many happy miles!
@ Road Rage
In Post #12 you say: "Life is inherently dangerous …. I wear ATGATT and I carry a gun to even the odds."
You also said: "PS. AMZ's example of his crash and his musket being separated...

A problem I have found, is that I do a heap of research, and decide (informed) on a particular item which I think will fit my riding, budget, size and so on. And then, I go to the bike shop to buy...
I would not carry, even though I do own a firearm. Even if you are at a psychological point where you can justify it to yourself that you would be willing to shoot at another human being, such...
You can have my container. You can have the plugs too! I got them the day before yesterday and they are a horrible fit! The right earplug keeps losing its seal, and the left one won't even go in. I'm...
Regarding the Sena Prism Tube, I think Bikegear.co.za does them...
Hi freerider
No, no write-up. This was about 13 years ago, just after I finished varsity. It was a mission trip - we would ride a stretch, get to somewhere and then stay there anything from a few...
I have thousands of kms under my belt on a KLR 650 - it is the only one of the three I can personally comment on.
I did a trip into Africa with my cousin some years back - me on the KLR and him on...
You're right. I agree - leave no rider behind.
I hope the poor guy doesn't give up on riding because of this incident, but I do hope he rethinks the company he is in.
God blessed me with ten fingers, but all of them are thumbs... So, I won't even attempt "building" something, cause it might end up looking like this:...
Wow Kristoe! Who needs an interlink lorry if you have that case on?!? :wink2:
I also use loft luggage on long trips, but on the NC750 it is a bit of a niggle, as the access to the fuel tank is below...
Congrats on the new bike. Looks stunning!
Many happy safe miles!
Please add to the list and not in individual replies.
Not on the forum much, been browsing the posts and there seem to be quite a few peeps who are new to riding or making a return to riding....
Agree with Scorpius.
Also, how old is you chain - how many kms? I got about 17 000km out of my stock chain on the Honda NC750, then replaced with an X-ring chain, which I hope will last even longer....
Everybody starts somewhere, and has that initial awkward little spill. The ones with sense start on something more manageable, and the lucky ones have their little awkward little spill somewhere...
Welcome to the forum!
I am very interested in other people's "systems" they use to lug stuff around on their bikes. I also ride my bike exclusively - we have a car, but the pretty wife uses that for...
I'll need proof!
If there's no picture, then I won't believe it [emoji13]

I think you're right. Unfortunately.
With the likes of Sym and BigBoy, etc. in SA, which offer similar bikes (although, in my opinion, not nearly as cool!), price would be an issue. But then, on the...
Welcome!
Many many happy miles!
Cool! Thanks for the advice - I'll certainly take it up - much better than going to Kempton each time, just to stand in the queues and then get turned away. Again. And again. And again...
When commuting, I simply get wet, and get it over with.
I would only "maak 'n plan" on long rides where longer cold-exposure would become an issue.
We are the 30th driest country in the world -...
I have two pairs of Alpine plugs - the black one for shorter rides, or when I need more hearing, and the red ones for long rides (or if I want to "be alone"...).
I have had both pairs now for over a...
I got an awesome summer-only jacket at Harley Davidson in Pretoria. It has their "Screamin Eagle" logo, but quite understated and clean.
Mesh jacket with just enough pockets, and decent armor -...
Nice bike!
Enjoy and survive to enjoy even more!
