AJ completed his first ever IoMTT race yesterday. Six laps of the circuit on a superbike. He finished 46th out of 80 starters with an average speed, over the 6 laps, of just on 180km/h. Well done Alann-Jon! Excellent riding.

Strongs for the Superstocks coming up during the week!

Awesome - Congratulations

Even if I was a lot younger, that is one race circuit I am very afraid of to ride.

Well done - You made RSA proud!!!

49th in the TT Senior Race. Pretty cool. 100% start:finish ratio and already planning for 2014. :thumbright:

Well done AJ! You did us proud.

Some facts about the typical Superbike Class races:

Laps: 6
One lap: 37 miles/59km
Race lenth: 222 miles/355km
Lap time of a winner: Around 17 minutes and 15 seconds
Total race time: Around 1 hour, 46 minutes
Typical average speed of winner: 131mph/209kmh

Can we even begin to imagine the concentration, mental and physical ability required to ride a World Superbike spec superbike continually at an average speed of 200+km/h for almost 2 hours!?

Absolutely amazing! Well done AJ! I am swelling with South African prde! I found out recently I have a second cousin who owns a hotel on the island, so I am now more hopeful than ever of going to watch, and maybe even ride it oooooone day.
