Every so often we organise a breakfast run which focuses on small bikes and noob riders. Yesterday was such a ride and I was pleasantly surprised to see the turnout – we even picked up some more riders along the way! Not only small bikes and noob riders joined in, but we had riders along just for the ride and the fun. Everybody had a great time and despite a few big trucks along the way, the route was good once we got out of town. Even the traffic cops waved at us!

I did a quick head count at our meeting point (McDonald’s opposite East Rand Mall) and phoned the Val Hotel to warn them of the 14-odd bikers on their way to them! After a quick talk on group riding we set off down Rondebult Road out of town. Traffic wasn’t too busy yet and we soon got to the R103 which runs next to the N3 highway. We had a few cross-winds but everybody employed the wind riding tip I gave the riders at the briefing so it wasn’t too much of a bother.

We turned off at Balfour to refuel the smaller bikes and for the smokers to indulge. Soon we were on our way again and about half an hour later we were at the hotel. Breakfast followed and then some riders had to get home but the majority of the crowd decided to ride back in a group – being Marshalled becomes addictive!

After another refuel we got back to Boksburg and more-or-less back at our meeting point at around 14:30.

I want to thank our Marshals – Speed Devil, Marius M and Gollywoc for another excellent job executed as only they know how!

To the riders – thank you for a wonderful ride and I look forward to the next one with you!

Well done Marshals, the Ho's team and everyone one the ride. I have seen the feedback from the noobs and it is heart warming to see the goodwill a ride lik ethis buys for ThinkBike and ThinkBikers.

At your next service ask them to change the front sprocket (I Think it is a 17 Tooth instead of the std 15 that the Pulsars come out with). Speed is improved by +- 20k/h without redlining.
