Email from the editor of Leisure Wheels to Mike Pohl of Lyndhurst Motorrad:

Dear Michael
Thank you again for your assistance after the accident that took the lives of Leon Weyers of Pretoria and his 20-year-old daughter, Margo, on Sunday. They leave behind Helena, and 22-year-old Caro.
Leon was passionate about biking. He was a member of BMW Motorcycle Club Central, and went on most of their outrides. But he would also think nothing of just getting onto either his 1200 GS or 1200 S and riding out for the day, hundreds of kilometres, just for the heck of it. And Margo liked nothing better than hopping on the back of her dad's bike and going with.
They died doing what they loved most, if that in any way makes up for the tragic loss.
Michael, I will keep you posted as to the memorial service or other arrangements. People are welcome to contact me at editorial@leisurewheels.com or at the number below, and I will pass it on to Helena, my wife's sister.
Best regards

Damn my heart is heavy - my friend Robin was just in the office and he was behind Leon and Margo - not nice......
It was on that horrid left handed corner by Sterkfontein Dam at the end of Oliviershoek pass - (the one that tightens up on you, it catches a lot of people out.....)
Leon had Margo on the back and it looks like he ran a bit hot into the corner and ran wide on the exit. Sadly there was a Camry coming in the opposing lane and they hit it mid-ships.
Such was the force of the impact that it split the tank of the GS and it caught fire. If at all you can look at it as a positive - they were both DOI. :-(
RIP good people - ride the skyworks :-(
