    My 2c worth 😊 I would like a nice well organized run with a bit of mileage. Coming from Kempton Park I am not going to join the easy rand venue ( way to short ) so looks like I am going to join the 'Blockhouse' group 👍 like the idea of a large group of bikes going through the tunnel at Alberton 😄

    Put it on anyway. Close ties with TB and we support it every year. A good valid cause. Probably more so than the official Toy Run, given the politics and BS that have plagued it over the last couple of years.
    Sorry Linus, your facts are incorrect. Mfasa as the person to go to at Bikers that Care, is also the person to go to for the Pretoria / Limpopo Toy Run. I know for a fact that he has attended various meeting and co-ordination of this event at The Carosel Casino.

    Good Morning all.
    Some quick clarity here and please nobody make this personal.
    Pretoria/Limpopo Toy Run is a sanctioned event.We as Bikers That Care host the event.Its is PBC approved and supported.
    When i say sanctioned I mean we as Bikers That Care are on the OFFICIAL COMMITTEE OF THE NATIONAL TOY RUN.
    I Don't know why we don't appear as Pretoria/Limpopo on National Toy Run site But we apparently fall under Limpopo Valley.All's fine but its is confusing I know.
    Mfasa can give better insight as he has been on the National Toy Run Committee for more than 7 Years.
    Long and winding as the Road may seem,riding with the Big man beside you is always a good thing!

    Mfasa, my sincere apologies for upsetting you. I have been on a couple of Nappie Runs and you guys do superb work up there. No accusations of any sort were made. Erroneous perceptions for sure. If you read the last part of my post you will note that my opinion was that your run was good and well worth supporting. And look at my post #18 in response to jadeinplay's reply indicating official support for your run.

    Now that I am back in SA, I will continue to support your efforts up there if that is acceptable.

    Accepted,would like to see you at our nappy rally in the future.
    I just hope that a lot of people read this thread to get some clarity
    Every year there is confussion about the toy run,there is around 25 registered toy run venues in SA and it is all for the same cause,trying to make the life of the less priveliged a little better for juse one day by handing out toys to them.

    There should not be any politics involved in this.This is a charity event which is probably the biggest of its kind in the world
    Last year Namibia joined us and we are trying to get our other nabouring countries involved as well.

    So peeps,there is no better toy run,maybe nicer ones,like ours{he he}
    Just go and give your toy,IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

    Geez Guys, let`s all take a chill pill and really think about this logically and without any ego, past, present, or future.

    Think Bike GP Events Team, merely from a practical point, will attempt to create to our best abilities a TB stand/presence at each of the following 2 *Toy Run* events :
    * The "Gauteng" TR ending in JHB/East Rand;
    * The "Limpopo" TR ending at Carousel.

    We understand clearly that these 2 Toy Runs are managed by seperate "organising entities" (under a National Committee), and that we will negotiate our presence there with each entity`s board/council who are directly involved with their specific event.

    Last year a lot of positive energy was wasted on the forum dissecting and criticising the "who-is-the-supposedly-reigning-Toy Run- regent", with most of us not having a cooking clue as to the what`s, where`s and how`s involved behind the truth, if indeed that can be said.

    Fact of the matter is; Think Bike will attempt to support as many as possible of the Toy Runs country wide. Be that in a more "official" manner (not capacity) where a geographical "events team" is involved, or otherwise where some members get together and create a TB support presence at the TR of their choice.

    My suggestion is a simple one:
    i) Go to the Toy Run of your own choice;
    ii) Take lots of prezzies with (and please don`t forget the teens);
    iii) Support TB stands where we have them present;
    iv) Enjoy the day with as many of your biker mates you can muster.

    Note: From a GP Events team perspective, we are busy with huge plans for the 2 above "sites" we will support. We have not yet opened a fred on this as we would like to get our ducks in a row as to what facilities we will provide/sponsors/ and the like. Looking forward to your support.

    Right, true to form, I will upset many.

    So with that in mind - let me clarify again. As TSOR - we do alot of Christmas events - and well so many, no actually none are supported by any Think Bike members.

    However, I am very fortunate, due to the fact that I do as I say I will do, and give every single gift, whether it be brand new or in need of some TLC, the joke in our house is that at the end of the year our dishwashers, not one but 2 are used to clean toys. We employ a lady to fix any broken toys and then we wrap and label each toy, arrange a christmas party to make it special for the kids on the christmas list. The Toy Run Company has now offered that if I need people to fix some of the broken toys we get - please understand it does not mean that people donate broken toys - okay to be fair some do, but that is not that important, I can ask for assistance from The Salvation Army via The Toy Run Company, to fix the broken toys, as truly I am rather useless with a drill and a glue gun!

    I am extrememly loyal to Mfasa et al, and Fine, because what they do - and let me tell you, especially those of you who do charity - it costs more to your
    personal finances than you would ever consider - their selfless efforts allow me as TSOR to convey to those who truly have nothing a sense of hope and that they count, and from someone who this year alone has already received requests for toys for 10 places of safety - thank you to people like Mfasa and Fine, and all the other wonderful people who arrange Toy Runs and to each and everyone of the public who support this initative.

    Nothing is every wasted, and no amount of BS will change the impact - simply because some of us do not care about the politics or the BS, we care about where the toys will go and who will benefit, and that is how it should be, as the kids counts. The adults are only important due to their donations.

    So folks - give - as I promise you - your gift regardless of how small or how big will be viewed as the best thing ever to the child - who without your generosity would never believe that they count and that you do not need to know someone to make their day/Christmas special.

    Mfasa, jy bly maar Spirit se maatjie!

    So true Spirit, thanks for the words ...

    Aquaman, to you too

    Let these kids get one day in the year, where the generosity of the bikers reign supreme, and put a smile on their faces.

    So we basically choose which group we want to join?

    I'm definitely doing this year's run in my dad's memory, IIRC he was a founding member of the Toy Run wayyy back (or he was simply a member of IMOC when the TR was started).
