As requested, here is an update. The first photo was taken the day I put the tyre on, the second was taken after 10500 km.

I recently put 6900 km on it over the course of 4 days. The riding included all conditions, wet and dry from straight, high speed highway, to high speed sweepers, to twisty mountain passes (including some peg scraping), to potholed tar, to dirt. Oh, and there was some emergency breaking as well. The tyre performed flawlessly and I have absolutely no issue with the tyre.
Oh, no, actually, there was one issue: at a certain, uhm, elevated speed the bike developed a slow "weave" that it did not have before. Others have reported a similar issue when the tyre pressure is not high enough. I must still up the pressure a bit and go and try it out again somewhere in the middle of nowhere.

Absolutely amazing!
Handling? Can you feel the edge of the tyre deforming on cornering?

Not at all. Feels just like a normal bike tyre. I don't even feel the edge during slow speed handling. I still have to be more assertive when turning at low speeds, but I don't feel an edge anymore. The (slow speed) edge feel went away when I upped the pressure to 2.2 bar (from 2). I now want to try 2.4 for the weave.
